Our Vision

With our Ribbon Cutting Ceremony April 5, 2025, and our Grand Opening planned for June 2026, we are thrilled to announce the transformation of our newly acquired RV property into Superior Made RV Resort - The former Big Sandy campground will be reimagined to Superior Made RV Resort a place where comfort, relaxation, and community come together. Designed with your needs in mind, our resort will offer large, spacious sites perfect for seasonal RV enthusiast, as well as overnight and short-term guest. Superior Made RV Resort will be updated in stages to ensure every visit feels like an upgrade. From modern amenities to a warm and welcoming atmosphere, this will be your go-to destination for making memories, whether you are staying for a night a week, or the whole season.

In Partnership with Metroparks, our resort will connect to Oak Openings Metropark, giving you unparalleled access to nature and outdoor recreation. Whether you are kayaking, fishing, exploring walking trails, or simply soaking up beauty of the surroundings, Superior Made RV Resort will be your gateway to adventure.

Our resort features several different Seasonal RV site sizes and sceneries including wooded and lake view sites. Most are large and spacious RV sites, ideal for seasonal enthusiasts and short-term guests alike. Enjoy ample space and privacy during your stay, ensuring a comfortable and convenient experience. We are proud to share the incredible improvements that are transforming Superior Made RV Resort into one of the premier camping destinations in the region. This is just the beginning! 

Upgrades completed so far include:

  • Brand new Roads throughout the entire resort creating a smoother and more enjoyable experience for every camper.

  • Completely new playground and playground area featuring an oversized play structure with swings and slides for the kids.

  • New Recreation Zone with basketball court, cornhole area, and horseshoe pits.

  • Harmony Beach - A beautifully refurnished swimming beach with 10 large decks with picnic tables and umbrellas with spectacular views of live concerts overlooking the lake.

  • Two large beachside firepits for relaxing with family and friends 

  • Ongoing Infrastructure Improvements with continued structural upgrades designed to provide a cleaner, safer, and more enjoyable camping experience.

  • A fundraising campaign over the next several seasons to build the area's first campground swimming pool a signature amenity that will truly set Superior Made RV Resort apart for seasonal, weekend, monthly, and overnight guests.

No camping experience is complete without a visit to the new Store "Superior Made Market" by owned and operated by Regina and ED Phillips. Superior Made Market has been thoughtfully expanded with many new products suggested by our campers, making it a convenient one-stop shop for everything you need during your stay. You will find:

  • Ice and ice cream

  • Camping supplies and essentials

  • lighter fluid, fire-starting materials, and other campsite necessities 

  • Snacks, drinks and everyday convenience items

  • New products continually added based on camper requests
